In Grandma’s House, I explore maternal relationships and the presence of “home” that create our identity. My grandma’s house is at the center of my relationship with my mother and my connection to the past. By combining family photographs, documents, and pictures I took myself, I create a piece of my Grandma’s house and showcase the lives that were lived and formed within. The house is a subject I keep returning to. It’s an extension of myself. It’s the only physical connection I have left with my grandma. And, it’s the closest way for me to meet my mom before she became a mother.
